Client: Embassy Hotel, Santa Monica:
Project: Capture the unique look and feel in this throwback gem of a hotel/apartments in the heart of Santa Monica CA.
Santa Monica is one of my favorite places on earth. Literally any opportunity to walk around and explore the ever changing landscape of this neighborhood makes me happy. On a trip back in 2013 I was looking for a place to stay for a few weeks and remembered "The Embassy". I lived right around the corner from this throwback for years but had never actually been inside. It was a combination of apartments and a hotel. Very unique and very 1920's California, its an awesome place to check out if you get the chance.
On this trip I had the chance to stay there for several nights and used my time there to explore the structure and old charm of the rooms. It was a cool way to shoot and learn about a location. I handed over some of my final images a few weeks later and was pleased and proud that they asked to use them in some of their promotional materials.
Just another example of never knowing where something might lead. But by doing something I enjoy and have an interest in I was rewarded.
